OpenAI Brings GPT-6 and Intelligent UI to ChatGPT

OpenAI has rolled out a new GPT-6 model in ChatGPT along with a feature called Intelligent UI that automatically changes the answer format depending on the question. OpenAI announced this on its official blog on October 7, and 9to5Mac reported it the same day. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise plans got it starting October 7, with Free and Go plans following on October 8.

The new model comes in two versions, GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, replacing the earlier GPT-5.6 Sol and Luna. Codex and ChatGPT Work still run on the September models for now.

Intelligent UI automatically picks between plain text, side-by-side comparisons, interactive diagrams with charts, or embedded tools like calculators and bill-splitters, depending on what's asked. OpenAI said responses "can include graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, and interactive experiences." The company added that the format depends on what the user is asking.

A feature called progressive responses shipped alongside it. ChatGPT now starts answering before its reasoning is complete, then adds detail as it continues.

According to OpenAI's Deployment Safety Hub, HealthBench Professional scores rose to 55.2 for Sol (from 54.0) and 48.2 for Luna (from 44.1). An evaluation measuring whether the model admits when a search tool is unavailable also improved noticeably at maximum reasoning effort. Some evaluations tied to under-18 safety categories showed regressions, however.

Answers shifting from plain text to screens mixed with buttons, charts and tools matters for anyone trying to get a brand noticed through AI answers. The same question can now surface very different information first, depending on how the interface renders it. Having only a text explanation ready may no longer be enough on its own.

Korean marketers on a paid ChatGPT plan are worth checking whether their answer screens have changed. It's worth seeing whether comparison or calculation questions now trigger an interactive layout, and whether that changes how a company's information shows up inside it.
