OpenAI announced that it is expanding ChatGPT Ads to some countries in Europe, India, the Middle East and North Africa. No public list names which countries are included. The same announcement included updates spanning audience management, conversion measurement, campaign pacing, reporting and campaign creation.

In Custom Audiences, members can now be added, removed or replaced without rebuilding an audience from scratch. A single request can mix multiple identifier types, and audiences of more than 5 million people can now be created. Limits on excluded audiences were eased, size estimates are broken into finer bands, and Google Advertising ID (GAID) was added as a supported identifier.

On measurement, the Measurement Pixel and Conversions API now use more data for conversion matching. The pixel additionally accepts hashed phone numbers, names, region and postal code. The Conversions API also accepts more identifiers and now supports Android GAID.

Search Engine Land said better matching lets advertisers tie more conversions back to their own campaigns. The outlet wrote that this is the condition marketers need before they treat ChatGPT as a performance channel rather than an experimental one.

Reporting and What's Coming

Advertisers using product feeds can now see per-card impressions and clicks for carousel ads in Ads Manager. Product-level line items are available through the Insights API. OpenAI said these card impressions are separate from billable impressions.

A conversion optimization model that weighs both click and view conversions together is coming. Campaigns using this model will be billed per impression, with delivery tuned to the conversion goal the advertiser selects. Search Engine Land said this moves the platform a step closer to the automated optimization structure that underpins today's performance advertising.

OpenAI also unveiled a ChatGPT Ads Manager plugin. Advertisers can create, manage and analyze campaigns using natural-language instructions in ChatGPT or Codex. It builds ads from a website or brief, generates variations, diagnoses campaign problems and proposes changes, which are applied only after the advertiser reviews them.

Search Engine Land summarized this as not the launch of a single new ad product, but an announcement that fills in unglamorous infrastructure advertisers need before shifting budget. Adding Europe, India, the Middle East and North Africa also widens the pool of users who can test these features.

In Korea

The announcement did not say whether Korea is included in this expansion. What Korean advertisers can check now is OpenAI's Ads Manager Availability document, which lists availability by country. Links to that document, along with guides for ChatGPT Ads Manager, Custom Audiences setup and the Conversions API, appear at the bottom of the article.
